Michel Witter is senior lecturer interaction design at the Academy of Communication & User Experience of Avans University of Applied Sciences in Breda, The Netherlands. He has been involved with the development of the interaction design curriculum for about 16 years. His research activities are driven by his fascination for embodied interaction and sensory augmentation.
Michel has a background in Technical Computer Science, Digital Art, interactive installations, and 3D computer graphics. This border crossing backdrop helps him stay open-minded towards developments in the domain of HCI and interaction design.
As researcher for the Centre of Expertise for Art, Design and Technology (CARADT), he is currently investigating the design of wearable technology for augmented sense-making through pure experience: the design of interactive garments and wearable technology from a phenomenological and enactivist approach. As educator he deals with privacy and ethics in relation to the design of integrated smart systems, specifically during an undergraduate project at his school.
